The monastery dedicated to the Saint George was built in the 11th century. Located in the Bijela village by the river of the same name, on the area overgrown with forest, surrounded by rocks, under its own piece of the sky, the monastery is only 8 kilometers from Šavnik. The monastery was set on fire in 1702 after which in the period of 1705-1735 was restaurated by the monk Maksim, who also restaurated the ambar and the mill, bought books and clothes and also fresco painted it. Soon after in 1840 the Ottoman army set the monastery on fire and torn it down. For the last time the monastery was restaurated completely in 1887.
