Borislav Pekic was a writer, a novelist, a scriptwriter and an academic. He is considered as one of the most important writers of the 20th century. His literary work, as well as the political involvement for which he was sentenced to prison, marked his life. During his stay in prison he wrote numerous scripts as well as his first novel "The Time of Miracles". Borislav Pekic's house of origin in Šavnik was restored in order to save and pass the literary heritage to future generations and it represents Residential Center for the creators of art. Inspired by the figure and work of Borislav Pekić, the ambience of the house represents the ideal place for the creation of literary works and because of that it is the center of numerous cultural events.
