Novica Cerović (1805-1895) was a duke, a senator and the only ban of Montenegro. As a prominent hero he was remembered for organizing the murder of Smail aga Čengić, the Turkish persecutor, as well as for the numerous battles he led against the Ottoman army. Novica's heroism can also be seen in his medals which are displayed in his house that was built by his father at the beginning of the 19th century in Tušinja village. Novica later built a level made of local stone blocks . The enterior of the house is completely preserved till this day, especially Novica's bedroom, in which you can see the authentic furniture as well as many valuable gifts and medals Novica earned as the ban of Montenegro.
