The most significant animal species in this area include: chamois, roe deer, wild boar, hare, fox, wolf, bear, marten, dormouse, squirrel, weasel, and otter. Among bird species, the most notable are: capercaillie, wild duck, imperial eagle, falcon, rock partridge, and several others. The rivers of Šavnik are rich in fish, especially brown trout, rainbow trout, and grayling.
As for dendroflora, the most notable species are: beech, fir, Turkey oak, white ash, mountain maple, sessile oak, hop hornbeam, mountain pine, dwarf pine, hazel, bilberry, and more. Among herbaceous species, the most important and visually striking are: edelweiss, poet’s daffodil, a wide variety of medicinal herbs, forest fruits, and edible mushrooms. This area is also home to a large number of Montenegrin and Balkan endemic species, such as wild caraway, Stachys (maslinica), mullein, gentian, violet, valerian, mountain maple, blue lettuce (modro lasinje), hawkweed (jeremičak), wild angelica (bedrica), spurge (mlječika), lily (krin), and many others.
